International Shipping Update

International Shipping Update

Earlier this year, just ahead of the Starship Flight 10 campaign, our shop operations had to move warehouses after our previous facility closed. During that transition, some international customers were unexpectedly charged customs or carrier fees upon delivery. That transition gave us a crash course in international shipping and DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) logistics, which we now realize had previously been happening behind the scenes at our former warehouse — and we quickly learned how complex it can be. The high carrier fees customers began to report were frankly unacceptable.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve partnered closely with our warehouse team to resolve the issue. Moving forward, international orders will now ship with Delivered Duties Paid (DDP) via DHL, meaning all duties and taxes are included in the shipping cost. This ensures there are **no surprise fees or customs charges upon delivery**.

To be fully transparent, this change does result in a small increase in international shipping costs for patches, as duties are now bundled in. However, it also guarantees a smoother and more predictable delivery experience for everyone outside the U.S - and the end result is much less expensive than the high carrier fees customers were hit with upon delivery on patch 10.

As part of this transition, we’ve set aside 200 Flight 11 patches specifically for international customers who were previously affected by unexpected duties. These are now available to purchase under the new shipping setup, free from surprise charges at delivery.

This update should permanently resolve the customs fee issue for future patch releases and other items shipped from our warehouse.
