Shortly before Starship Flight 10, Ship 36 was undergoing propellant load for a static fire test when a COPV ruptured, destroying Ship 36 in a massive fireball and causing extensive damage to the Massey’s Test Site.
SpaceX’s plans for Flight 10 had to rapidly change, with the Starship being replaced with Ship 37 and an improvised test static fire plan being implemented. Despite the early setback, once it flew, Starship Flight 10 was the most successful flight of Starship Block 2 to date, with the ship successfully reentering for its splashdown.
